The Gift: Best Animation and Best Music at Warsaw Glitch 2026
The Gift took two awards at the Ground Zero Edition, Best Animation and Best Music, plus a finalist mention in Best Editing. Written and directed by Junho Her of Grab AI Studio (South Korea).
The film combines a warm, painterly animated aesthetic with elegant visual storytelling, turning an intimate journey into a beautifully crafted cinematic experience. The jury recognised its distinctive animation style, its visual consistency and the way the music works together with the imagery to build one emotionally cohesive world. It is a story about the bond between people and animals, about love, loss, compassion and the fight for those we hold closest: told with artificial intelligence, and deeply human.
A jury of film industry professionals and filmmakers selected The Gift as one of the standout animated works of this year's competition. Animation was also the largest part of the open call: of more than 250 films submitted, over 150 were animated. Second place in Best Animation went to Between the Lines, produced by Thomas Righini Carrington and James Drake Media, with The Fall and Le Drip sharing third place.
