Italian film critic, writer and documentary producer, artistic director of the Biografilm Festival in Bologna since 2022. For nearly a decade he was a programmer at the EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, and he has curated for festivals including Rotterdam, the Trento Film Festival and River to River, chairing the programming commission of FIAF, the international federation of film archives, from 2017. A graduate of the University of Bologna, he has written books on Peter Weir, Michael Cimino and cult cinema, received the Haghefilm Foundation Award and is an honorary member of the Cinémathèque française.
