GenJam™ Online · Suite Dreams
A GenJam™ is Machine Cinema's live format: a clock, one theme, and a finished film at the end. This edition runs online, so you take part from anywhere in the world, and the host is Warsaw Presidential Hotel. The theme is Suite Dreams: Destination Warsaw. The brief: make a film in which the hotel plays the lead role. The form is yours, an ad, a music video, viral content or fiction, but the work must use the hotel's logo and show the hotel itself: the tower over the centre of Warsaw, the interiors, or the views of the city from its rooms. What counts is the idea, the craft, and how hard the hotel carries the lead. Any tools go, from cameras to generative AI. The prize is a voucher for two nights in the Presidential Suite, a two-storey apartment on the 40th floor, 260 square metres, with access to the Presidential Lounge and service at the level reserved for heads of state. Machine Cinema GenJam™
GenJam™ is the flagship live format of Machine Cinema, a global creative ecosystem of over 20,000 members built around generative filmmaking, founded by Minh Do and Fred Grinstein. Over three years they have run more than 200 GenJams in person across 30+ countries, from San Francisco and New York to Seoul, Tokyo and Lagos, with online editions drawing creators from 60+ countries, in partnership with organisations like the TV Academy, Pixar, Stanford, Google and OpenAI. The rules are simple: four hours on the clock, one theme, and teams ship a finished short film or viral piece, screened and judged in front of the audience. Machine Cinema also runs the GenJam Director's Cup, the first world championship of creativity, a sixteen-country film tournament. Warsaw Glitch hosts two GenJams.
