Intel makes the processors most of this industry quietly runs on, and its Core Ultra line puts a dedicated NPU next to the processor and the integrated graphics, so a machine can run smaller AI models locally instead of sending everything off to a data centre. Add the Arc graphics line and you get a workstation that generates, upscales and transcribes without a subscription meter ticking in the background. For a festival built on generative work, that is exactly the argument about where compute should actually live. Intel Corporation is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and was founded in 1968 by the engineers Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce, with funding arranged by the financier Arthur Rock. In 1971 it created the first commercial microprocessor, the Intel 4004, and it is one of the developers of the x86 instruction set found in most personal computers. Besides CPUs it makes chipsets, network controllers, flash memory and graphics processors, and by revenue it was the world's third-largest semiconductor manufacturer in 2024.
