Animatica.ai

Animatica.ai

AI animation

A plugin for Blender and MotionBuilder that does one thing: it fills the motion between the keyframes an animator has already set. The key poses are hard constraints, so the model never overrides the intent, it only fills what lies between them, and it can hand back ten different takes on the same move. Change one pose and the rest recalculates, and the result comes back as ordinary keyframes, so it can still be trimmed by hand. The company describes the loop as three steps: place the key poses at the moments that matter, generate physically plausible motion from the same keys and explore several takes, then move a pose, add a constraint or regenerate a segment while the approved poses stay put. Besides Blender and MotionBuilder it also works in 3ds Max, with prompts on a timeline keyed onto the rig. Other features on its site include text-to-motion at 30 frames per second as editable keys, drawing a curve for the root to follow, an autoposer where dragging a hand moves the body, and retargeting a performance onto a character it was never captured for. The core is open source and can be run locally, so scenes need not leave the user's own hardware. The company is based in Gdańsk, and its co-founders appear among the festival's guests.
