Authorship, Ownership and Creative Control in AI Filmmaking
A short, dense talk about authorship and ownership in work where part of the job is done by a model. Ben Chimoy asks what the sentence I made this actually means once the tool suggests, corrects and finishes. This is not about law but about agency: where your contribution ends, at what point you stop being the author and become the editor, and whether that line can be drawn honestly at all, both to yourself and to the audience.

Berlin-based director, writer and AI-powered producer with over twenty years of traditional filmmaking behind him, now working across AI-supported cinema and hybrid documentary. He is a Runway Creative Partner and founder of AI Filmmakers Berlin, a community for screenings and talks around new moving-image culture, and hosted a Berlinale Creator Session. He works with Pocket FM on fiction drama, turning bestselling audio stories into AI-produced films, studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, and received a Wim Wenders Stiftung scholarship for a VR project.
