How Nexa Combines Actors, Film Production and Generative AI, by Veles Productions
A team making a premium series half with a film crew and half with generative AI describes what that looks like in practice. Nexa began as a science fiction audiobook and is now a hybrid production, so this example shows plainly where the person works and where the machine does, and what it costs to keep one from eating the other. About ten minutes of footage on screen, then an open discussion with the room.

Aleksandra Panisko

A screenwriter, director and philosopher. She is the author of the science-fiction audiobook Nexa, which she is developing with Veles Production as a premium series made in a hybrid system that joins traditional film craft with generative AI. A creative producer and director of television series, she looks for ways to move a mass audience. She builds her script worlds out of psychologically deep characters, smuggling in a language of peace, empathy and friendship that her characters find in the strangest of circumstances. Behind her lie a finished science-fiction novel and festival shorts and documentaries.
Dorota Zwierzchowska

A film and television producer, a lawyer and a specialist in content and distribution, with many years of experience in the industry. A pioneer of hybrid production models, she brings a legal background together with a passion for cinema and for building new formats. Day to day she experiments with the team at Veles, drawing out the best of what a person, a machine and the newest technologies can do together. At work and in life she follows a line from Confucius: choose a job you love, and you will never work a single day in your life.
Kate Molchanova
Animation · Artist
An animator and AI artist at Veles Productions, on the team that builds the studio's visual content. She works on Nexa, the studio's hybrid series, where a film crew and generative tools make one picture together: part of the image is shot on set, and part is built on her side, in animation and in the models. That split is exactly what the panel is about, and she is the person who can say where the line between them actually runs.
Artur Paprocki

Chief executive of Veles Productions, the Warsaw virtual production and XR studio that also keeps offices in New York and Montpellier. He runs an international team and works on projects at the meeting point of AI and virtual reality: camera tracking for broadcast, augmented reality on air, 3D scanning and custom virtual sets, plus Nomad Stage, the mobile LED wall the studio takes to the shoot. At the festival Veles shows Nexa, its hybrid of actors, film production and generative AI.
