WarsawJS
WarsawJS is Warsaw's JavaScript community: a monthly meetup running since 2014, past its 140th edition, built by volunteers as a place to level up and give something back. Evenings mix technical talks, panels and networking, with speakers from companies like Netflix and Dropbox, free entry and a stream for anyone watching remotely. It is exactly the grassroots engineering culture the festival's technology track grows out of. The community describes itself as a local group of JavaScript professionals and enthusiasts who meet every month, on the second Wednesday, to share experience from the many fields where the language is used: browsers, servers, developer tools, mobile, smart TVs, microcontrollers, databases and video games. Its events sell out a few hours after they are announced. Besides the meetups it runs affordable monthly workshops led by members, multi-day learning sessions with an experienced developer, and an annual Edukaton, a hackathon in which teams build tools for education. It also organises the front-end conference ConFrontJS, and keeps up the conversation on Discord channels dedicated to particular JavaScript technologies. The WarsawJS Foundation was co-founded by Piotr Zientara, CEO of the festival's technology partner Xfaang.
