The Last Tram to Lisbon

Tram 24 stops running at midnight. Rosa has driven it up and down these hills for twenty-two years and she intends to finish the last round on time.

At the bottom of the route an old man gets on with a bouquet and no destination. As the tram climbs through the lamplight he tells her about a woman he was supposed to meet at the top of the line in 1974. Rosa listens, and somewhere around the third stop she realises she knows how his story ends better than he does.
