About the filmmakers

Born and raised in Berlin, Mark Wachholz has written novels, computer games and TV shows for over 20 years, and that background informs his work as an AI filmmaker. Best known for the psychological horror Unblind (2024, Best Director at AI Artist Beijing 2024), the video essay The Cinema That Never Was (2025, Grand Prize Korea Content Awards, Grand Prize OMNI International AI Film Festival, Craft Vanguard Award at the 56th IFFI) and the dystopian drama Céremony (2025, top 12 finalist of the 1BFS and Google Gemini AI Film Award 2026).
