Synopsis

Malvinas: Two Names, One Memory is a cinematic essay on a territory that carries profoundly different meanings for two nations. Tracing the story from 1833 through the 1982 war and into the present, the film explores competing claims, UN Resolution 2065, memory, identity, and life on the islands today. Rather than reducing a complex history to slogans, it asks what happens when territory becomes inseparable from national memory, and whether understanding the histories behind a conflict can open space for something beyond victory or defeat. At its core lies a question: can a wound heal when it still forms part of the identity of two nations?
