Dr (Hon) Amit Kailashchandra Lath, an Indian entrepreneur who has spent twenty-eight years building business out of Poland. He is CEO and managing partner of the Sharda Group of Companies and CEO of QVK Deep Foods, trading in more than thirty countries; Sharda was ranked 301st on the Forbes Diamonds list in 2012 and first for textile imports from India to Poland. In 2023 President Droupadi Murmu awarded him the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honour India confers on its diaspora, for his part in evacuating Indian citizens from Ukraine through Poland during Operation Ganga and for building trade between the two economies. He holds an honorary doctorate for excellence in management from the University of Azteca and the Medal of Honour of the City of Łódź. He is vice president and board member of the Europe India Chamber of Commerce, vice chair of the Europe India Centre for Business and Industry, an international advisory board member of I.I.M.U.N., co-founder of the British International School of the University of Łódź and an ambassador of the Łódź Chamber of Commerce.
