Two practices that design for Microsoft and Google, and a researcher who teaches BIM, talk about what generative tools are doing to architecture. A building has to stand up, so this is a field where a model hallucination has a price measured in structure rather than in a revision. The panel asks where the model genuinely helps: in the concept, in the documentation, or only in the conversation with the client, and what in this profession will not be handed to a machine.

Who's on stage
Bartosz Trzop
Architect · CEO · Poland
Architect and chief executive of Trzop Architekci, the Warsaw practice he founded in 2007 and runs today with a team of twenty-five. A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, he has been building since 2003: offices for Microsoft, Google, McKinsey, CMS and L'Oréal, and, as co-author, two office buildings and the exhibition centre at Centrum Praskie Koneser. Awarded for his office work and for the house Dom Kurtyna. His line on the job: exceptional architecture comes from artistic vision and engineering precision meeting.

Emilia Dudzinska
PhD Candidate · BIM · Poland
A doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, working on BIM, building information modelling, and on new technologies in design. BIM is a way of working in which a building exists first as a model carrying its own data: geometry, materials, services and schedule sit in one place that every trade works from. At Warsaw Glitch she speaks for the academic side, looking at new tools through research and evidence rather than through sales. The Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology is the oldest school of architecture in Poland and one of the places where BIM is entering the curriculum, so her seat on the panel comes from where the next cohorts of designers are taught.
