The Akedah

The Akedah is a cinematic meditation on Genesis 22, one of Scripture's most unsettling passages. Rather than treating the binding of Isaac only as a test of faith, the film explores the tension between obedience and discernment, devotion and fanaticism, silence and responsibility, while revealing a mirror between Isaac on Mount Moriah and Ishmael in the wilderness: two sons brought to the brink, two stories shaped by abandonment, fear and divine intervention. More than a retelling, the film approaches Genesis 22 as a mirror, not only of Abraham's faith, but of our own.
