Puppet Parliament

The old theatre in Malá Strana has been shut for years. One night the puppeteer fails to return, and by morning the marionettes have worked out that nobody is holding the strings.

The King proposes to rule exactly as before, on the grounds of continuity. The Devil proposes a referendum. Kašpárek proposes lunch, and gets an unexpected amount of support.

What follows is a dusty, deeply Czech campaign: speeches from the prop box, a scandal involving a missing hand, a ballot box made out of a shoe, and a recount that nobody trusts.
