Lighthouse Ten

Anders has kept the lighthouse at Hanstholm for thirty-one years. The letter comes on a Monday: automation complete, light off in ten days, tower to be empty by the end of the month.

He does what he is told, at his own pace. He cleans the lens. He writes up the log to the last entry. He receives visitors he did not invite, including a woman from the agency who expected an argument and does not get one, and a former colleague who wants to talk about the old rota and cannot stop crying.

On the tenth night Anders makes the only decision that is still his to make, and the film treats it with the seriousness of a man who has not let the light go dark once in three decades.
